Edith Piaf – Non Je Ne Regrette Rien
Эдит Пиаф — (фр. Édith Piaf, урожденная Эдит Джованна Гассион (фр. Édith Giovanna Gassion) 19 декабря 1915, Париж — 10 октября 1963, Грасс) — французская певица и актриса.
Распространённая легенда гласит, что Эдит Пиаф родилась под уличным фонарём в Бельвиле, но это вряд ли соответствует действительности. Матерью Эдит была неудачливая актриса Анита Майяр, выступавшая под псевдонимом Лина Марса. Отцом был уличный акробат Луи Гассион. В начале Первой мировой войны он отправился добровольцем на фронт. Впервые он получил двухдневный отпуск только в конце 1915 года, чтобы повидать свою новорожденную дочь Эдит.
Через два года Луи Гассион узнал, что жена его бросила, а дочь отдала на воспитание своим родителям. Условия, в которых жила Эдит, были совершенно ужасающими, и Луи отвёз дочь в Нормандию к своей матери, содержавшей публичный дом. Тут выяснилось, что Эдит совершенно слепа. Как оказалось, в первые же месяцы жизни у Эдит начал развиваться кератит, но чета Майар, видимо, этого просто не заметила. Когда никаких других надежд не оставалось, бабушка повезла Эдит в Лизье к святой Терезе, куда ежегодно собираются тысячи паломников со всей Франции. Поездку назначили на 19 августа 1921 года, а 25 августа 1921 года Эдит прозрела. Ей было шесть лет.
Вскоре Эдит пошла в школу, окруженная заботами любящей бабушки, но добропорядочные обыватели не хотели видеть рядом со своими детьми ребенка, живущего в публичном доме, и учёба для девочки очень быстро закончилась. Тогда отец забрал Эдит в Париж, где они начали вместе работать на площадях — отец показывал акробатические трюки, а его девятилетняя дочь пела. Эдит зарабатывала пением на улице до тех пор, пока её не взяли в кабаре «Жуан-ле-Пен».

Great Arrangement!
This is a great arrangement of one of my favorite pieces! Ive worked on it for quite some time now, and every accompanist I have worked with has been able to play with ease. The rhythms are clearly defined and well-written, and follow the song down to a t!

My memory of Edith Piafs songs from the 60s was jogged by the TV commercial with items riding on vehicle rooftops. I was moved to research, for the first time, Ms Piafs life! A sad existence but she was successful! As an opera tenor on the fringe of the genre, appreciation and understanding came to the fore! Non, je ne regrette rien! Never again. The song is simple, yet powerful! A tribute to Edith.

Great Arrangement!
