Aura Dione родилась 21 января 1985 в Копенгагене, мать с Фарерских островов и французского происхождения, а отец из северной части Ютландии , но имеет испанские корни. Мама и отец познакомили ее с музыкой, и первая песня была написана, когда она была в возрасте 8 лет. Ее родители были хиппи и плавали вокруг Мирового океана с ней, до 7 лет воспитывалась на Борнхольме . Здесь певица начала посещать школу и поступила в среднюю школу, а в средней Aura переехала в Австралию, где искала вдохновение у аборигенов. Это привело позже к написанию текста к песне Something From Nothing.
Она дебютировала в чартах летом 2007 года с синглом «From Nothing», но добилась успехов и композиция » Song for Sophie «- обе из альбома» Columbine, который был выпущен в 2008 году. Сингл » I Will Love You Monday «был лишь незначительным хитом в Дании, но был хитом № 1 в Германии, где песня вынесена в расширенный вариант под названием» I Will Love You Monday (365) «.
4ноября 2011года выпускает свой второй по счету альбом названный «Beforte the dinosaurs» , а 21октября 2011года предшествующий ему взрывной и лиричный сингл «Geronimo».

Признаюсь честно, песня Ауры Дион «Friends» одна из моих самых любимых современных песен. Эта песня — хит 2012-2013 годов. Именно она в свое время натолкнула меня на мысль использования современных песен на уроках английского и создания тематической подборки популярных песен для уроков в средних и старших классов. Поэтому, конечно же, не могу не предложить поработать над нею в 7, 9 или 10 классах при прохождении темы «Friends and Friendship» (Form 7 Unit 3, Form 9 Unit 2 , Form 10 Unit 1).

«Friends» is a song by Danish singer-songwriter Aura Dione from her second studio album, Before the Dinosaurs (2012). The song features American production team Rock Mafia who co-wrote the song with Dione and David Jost. Dione wrote the song to let her friends know how precious they are to her. «Friends» was released as the album’s second single on March 2, 2012.
