Here is my solo guitar arrangement of Domenico Scarlatti’s Sonata (K.466).

Originally in F minor, this beautiful keyboard work has been transposed here to E minor. Described by some as among Scarlatti’s most lyrical compositions, it’s almost Romantic in its sound. While K.466 doesn’t present the daunting technical challenges of other Scarlatti sonatas played on guitar, it nonetheless calls for several interesting left-hand stretches that, if well executed, will reward the careful performer.

I want to thank Bernhard Heimann for his extraordinary music-notation skills and tireless all-around help in preparing the score.

I hope you enjoy this piece.

A revised PDF has been posted today (June 24, 2019) with the following corrections: 1) In measure 5, beat 4, the d treble note is now d sharp. 2) In measure 61, beat 1, the b bass note is now marked to be played on the fifth string. Please make these fixes on the score if you’ve already printed it out.

Correction made on September 7, 2019: Measure 2, Beat 1 — In this chord the F# note played on the 4th string should be changed to an E natural.
