The tube screamer tends to be a bit high on the treble, even when you adjust it, it still sounds too high to me.
Led Zeppelin and other bands around that time also used different recording methods, for example my Guitar teacher was in a band called The Late, and he said \»to get distortion back then we turned it right the way up\» lol.
My teacher even used a Marshall base stack turned right the way up to make a creamy sound, using his 195? Gibson TV special.
