Maxence Cyrin — Where Is My Mind
Maxence Cyrin родился в Безансоне, на востоке Франции, и на протяжении всего детства учился классическому фортепиано, а позже поступил в музыкальную академию. Однако потом классическая музыка уступила место мрачным и сюрреалистическим пьесам, которые стал сочинять молодой музыкант. Он увлекся нью-вейв, электро и индастриалом и в 18 лет сделал первую запись. В то же самое время он открыл для себя техно и попал на рейвы. Танцевальное движение захватило его так, что в ближайшие годы Cyrin выпустил 12 записей на независимых лейблах Rave Age, Superstition и PCP.
В 25 лет жизнь Maxence меняется. Он переезжает в Париж, начинает слушать easy-listening и становится фаном Элвиса. Потом он влюбляется в оптимистические песенки Beach Boys – прежде чем вернуться к своим корням, классической музыке и опере.
Увлеченный сладкоголосыми певцами, Maxence записывает джинглы для радио и выступает в модных парижских клубах – таких, как Baron (там он даже становится постоянным певцом). В тот же период он сочиняет свой первый мюзикл Les Valets de la hype, который был поставлен в Париже в начале 2005 года.
После этого круг в очередной раз сомкнулся – Maxence снова слушает нью-вейв и техно, одновременно для собственного удовольствия перекладывая классические композиции этих жанров для фортепиано. Эти каверы звучат на выступлениях артиста в центре Помпиду, Tapis Rouge, Calvi on the Rocks, а также становятся частью компиляции Megasoft Office 2005, где Maxence интерпретирует композицию легендарного Лорана Гарнье Acid Eiffel.

Dude, thank you soooooooo much! You don’t know how happy I am to hear you say something that nice. I’m really glad that you like what I play. I really wish that I could record and upload more pieces, but every video is so incredibly time consuming to make. This particular piece took me about two weeks to finish, and was pretty easy for me to play. However, some songs have taken several months or more for me to learn, and have taken many many takes to get just right. On top of that, I’m going to school full time over an hour away from my parent’s house, and I can only get back to my piano every so often to record on it. I LOOOOOVE my piano and regret that I can’t take it everywhere with me, because the school’s practice pianos just aren’t nearly as nice. I wish I could upload more, but I’m just can’t learn quality pieces fast enough. I wish I was up there with Kyle Landry and vkgoeswild, but I’m not there yet and probably never will be. Regardless, it’s kind comments like yours that motivate and encourage me to keep progressing. Thank you!
