Съемка началась в Нью-Йорке в ноябре 2016 года. Премьера фильма состоялась 8 декабря 2017 года на борту RMS Queen Mary 2. Фильм был выпущен в Соединенных Штатах 20 декабря 2017 года 20th Century Fox , спустя семь месяцев после роспуска Ringling Bros и Barnum & Bailey Circus, и собрал более 434 миллионов долларов во всем мире, что сделало его пятым самым кассовым мюзиклом.
